Ashes To Bloom is an audiovisual project that reflects on crisis as one of the defining experiences of the contemporary generation. Here, crisis is not viewed solely as a period of loss or failure, but as a natural part of the process of personal transformation. The project is structured into three interconnected phases—burnout, the experience of crisis itself, and the euphoria of a new beginning—which together depict a journey from the collapse of established certainties toward a renewed search for identity. Each of these stages is characterized by its own distinct visual and sonic atmosphere.

Based on visual concepts created by the author, original musical compositions were developed in collaboration with invited musicians, each piece composed specifically for individual sections of the film. Sound does not function merely as an accompaniment to the image, but as its equal counterpart. The final work emerged through an ongoing dialogue between the two media, which continuously influenced and shaped one another throughout the creative process.

The project is also founded on the principle of collective collaboration. Contributing musicians include Čaba Laciga, Arty, Tokyo Drift, Mdmxboy, Florbal, and the duo Media Service. In addition, approximately thirty artists from various creative disciplines participated in the project, bringing their own experiences of crisis as a shared generational phenomenon. As a result, the work oscillates between personal testimony and collectively shared experience.

The outcome is a six-and-a-half-minute audiovisual piece that traces the process of individual transformation during a period of crisis through moving images, music, and photographic elements. The author’s background in photography is strongly reflected throughout the work. This photographic approach shapes not only its visual aesthetics but also its treatment of photography as a medium, which becomes an integral part of the filmic narrative and enters into dialogue with both the moving image and the soundscape.
